Hi
classmates! Today I'm going to talk about a free post, and I chose a very
special person for me, an author very important in my field; Michel Foucault.
I admire to
Michel Foucault, because not is an expert, he knows of different fields and is
a cross-curricular contribution for all areas to social sciences.
Michel
Foucault was born on France in 1926 and died on 1984 of AIDS. He was a
philosopher and historian of the ideas, he studied philosphy and psychiatry, he
was really a very curious person. He has done in social science very much, his
work was about investigations of social institutions; specially about jails,
hospitals, and mental hospitals, also studies of the human sexuality, all
around to reveal the relations of power between knowledge and discourse.
Also he was
a political activist, and he was try to show that a thinker can have a politic
position, because researcher can't have a biased point of view, all people he
learn in every moment of his life. He was try to refuse the point of view that
indicate that all researchers are neutral politically.
I like him
because his ideas was very interesting and helped to my field to think how you
can learn, and how this knowledge can help you to transform yourself and your
self-ideas.
I think
that researchers like Foucault can help at all to open our minds.
I hope you
liked it!
Kisses!
